On April 2021, a journalist of the ‘Sapahik Digontodhara’ was hold by red-handed by the public. Another online press personality came here to the spot and found an ID card of the national broadcast ‘Boishakhi TV’. The captured journalist asserted himself a media person of the ‘Boishakhi TV’. The story was a fish-trader was coming to the fish selling center by a truck, the truck was loaded by fishes. On the way to him, the journalist demanded 5 lac taka. His mate who came with him of the same motorcycle had got away but the man offered him 1 lac taka as he was carrying illegal fishes. At one point of fighting with them, he, the journalist bit him, the fish-trader. This is the scene happing all the time.

I was working in an online media house. It was in the mid-September 2020 in Muradpur, Chattogram. There I had witnessed various forms of wrong-acts of journalism. One was like, the news reporter and the owner, he was basically an advocate, working area in the Chattogram Judge Court Annex Bhaban (building), taking camera went to Chittagong Baizid Bostami road. It was of course in the night. They trapped a person, but how? They noticed him, the fake saint who would betray the general people hoping to solve their family problems like returning the one’s husband or to get one’s beloved dear. So, they brought three-four women in that night after they had caught the saint deceiver. On the camera on, the person denied the allegations of the women but the reporters whose target was to collect a minimum big amount from the person in anyway was repeatedly asking questions trying to fall him in their trap. At one point, the public on the spot got agitated and they were about to beat him. Then the cameraman and the reporter drove him to the Muradpur office. I was video-making then. I didn’t know what they were asking from the old person closing the second room of the same office. Later, I learnt that they had received 40000 thousands through his bKash number. After then the owner of the online news portal, Mr. advocate Towhidul Islam assigned me to have the raw footage ready for publish in the online. So, I did it. Later I shared the matter to my friends who are working in the reputed media- one in the ‘Prothom Alo’ and the other in the ‘Samokal’. They suggested me quit the job soon. Finally I quitted my job. These were the scenes of media in light of mine.
